See It Through The Eyes Of Love
Life is all about perspective…if you choose to see things as how they initially present to you, you may see an imperfection, nothing worthy of your attention, or nothing positive in a situation. However, if you choose, there is another perspective, God’s. And, if you step in faith, and dare to look at it through His eyes of love, you will see mountains move!!

Same rock from two different views. One shows nothing special. One shows a symbol of love. God will use the world, through sometimes simple illustrations, to emphasize the lessons we need to learn in life. And one of the greatest lessons is the choice in perception. With everything we see and experience, we have the option to view it simply as it appears, at face value, verses viewing it through God’s eyes, through the lens of love and faith! Seeing things through God’s love and faith, not only causes our situation to be easier and lighter (Matthew 11:30 NIV), more pleasant, if you will, but it also brings forth what only He can do… bring life and resurrection power to it! Even though Jesus’ Word is truth and this message is all throughout Scripture, by the grace if God, He has allowed science to exemplify it. Scientific research done in this area of analyzing the power of living by a perspective of love and faith has shown to produce positive outcomes, both spiritually and physically. In fact, my children and I did our own little experiment to verify the conclusion!
A few years ago, my kids and I used apple seeds from a few fresh apples and placed them into 8 different pots. Then, we split up the pots, placing 4 of them in another area of the house. Along with following normal care instructions, we labeled 4 pots with the word “Love” and the other 4 pots with the word “Hate.”
Daily, with each “Love” plant, we spoke “Jesus/God” over it. We prayed over it. We sang worship/happy songs to it. We said nice things to it, telling it how amazing it was, how thankful we were for it, and how much we loved it. Essentially, we showed it love.
Daily, with each “Hate” plant, we would speak “Devil/Satan” over it. We would yell and scream at it. We would tell it all our frustrations. We would tell it how it was not good enough and not going to succeed. Essentially, we showed it hate.
Over time, we started to see how these thoughts/heart postures affected the two groups of plants. Our “Hate” plants eventually died. However, our “Love” plants, are still alive today, 6 years later, 5 feet tall, and planted in our backyard!
The power of choosing and expressing love (faith) is so understated and underused in our world. Remember, if “God is love” (1 John 4:8 NIV), then how powerful must love be! And, if “He rewards those who earnestly seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6 NIV) by choosing to live in His love, viewing everything through eyes of love causing us to, therefore, act in love, then how much more will we see God’s promises come to pass, including promises of healing and longevity! Furthermore, how positively would it affect EVERYONE, and everything, AROUND US!
So, maybe the next time you are praying for a “positive” change in your life, or even in the world, ask yourself, “Am I doing all I can right where I am? Am I walking by faith in choosing God’s powerful gift of love in how I view and live out my life or situation in order to see the change I desire? Do I want the world to use love to fix its problems, when I myself am not using it to fix mine?”
I am sure we are starting to recognize (as we did by our family experiment!) that we not only need to choose love more, but also, the more we do, the more we will be walking into the “rewards” God has spoken over us…those approximately 8000 promises in His Word! We also need more faith simply to choose and trust that love (which, again, is God) is the most powerful way we can effect change! Our individual lives can be the testimonies of how to live in obedience to God’s Will to evoke the changes we desire to see in them, both spiritually and physically (including in OUR BODIES!). For the Bible tells us, it is not “by (human) might nor by (human) power, but by the Spirit” (Zechariah 4: 6 NIV)… and the Spirit is one of love and faith! Surrender to God’s Will today! Choose faith and love and see what flourishes in your life!!
God is blessing you!
